Brian Lariche

Brian is the Founder and Chief Community Strategist of Lariche Community. He first started a CSR company in 2000. In 2009, started Lariche Community to focus more on Community Development. Brian has vast experience in the area of community development both in Malaysia and internationally. He was Project Adviser for the UNDP Malaysia in the area of HIV, focusing on leadership and capacity identification and development in Malaysia and in West Africa. He is also a trainer facilitator for numerous local and international youth and community leadership engagement programs. He is also competent in developing and advising patient advocacy groups to increase their impact and sustainability.

Brian has a wide network locally and globally and consults various international agencies. He has published, written, translated and adapted numerous books, manuals, and brochures on socio- medical issues and governance. He was published in ‘Responsible Management in Asia’ (Palgrave, 2010). He sits on a variety of committees both locally and internationally including the Expert Panel for Aids Accountability International based in Sweden, Matahari- A trafficking NGO based in Boston and on numerous Education Boards. He is a recurrent speaker and facilitator for international/local conferences and forums.

Brian is well travelled and has established networks and links in over 95 countries worldwide. He also runs food programs for the marginalised in his personal capacity in Malaysia. Besides his higher education in law, language and various professional certifications, he has completed his Master’s in Business Administration and will finish his 2nd Masters in Public Administration (MPA) in 2016. Brian is currently a Global Master Trainer with Aflatoun, the largest financial literacy program for children worldwide and heads the sustainability task force for Asia.

Since late 2015, Brian Lariche is the Head of Community Development in Make it Right Movement, Powered by Brickfields Asia College, dealing with all of BAC’s over 50 NGO partners. Lariche Community selects the most appropriate NGOs to cooperate with and provides consulting services, which helps them strengthen their capacity.

His work portfolio includes:

  • Development of a literacy program for children in Homes in Malaysia
  • Development and training of a Global Financial Literacy Program- Aflatoun
  • Due diligence of ~ 300 NGOs/individuals nominated for Malaysian Humanitarian of the year
  • Setting up of food support program that feeds over 500 people a month in Kuala Lumpur
  • Developing the volunteer management program for the large Malaysian NGOs
  • Developing excellence programs for the Abu Dhabi Centre of Excellence
  • Development of books and videos on Cancer for women and children
  • Advisory for GLCs in India
